Richard Rich
Billionaires have been the stars of cartoons before - Daddy Warbucks, Richie Rich, Bruce Wayne - but you wouldn’t see this coming.
Warren Buffett, the 2nd richest man in America (Bill Gates, thanks for asking) will play himself in a 13 part DVD series called “The Secret Millionaires Club.” In the show he will dispense advice to a group of kids who want to raise money to save a youth center in Omaha, which is Buffett’s home town. DIC (Power Rangers) is producing; Buffett will work for free.
In the show Buffett advises the kids to invest in an ice cream franchise and a candy store, but talks them out of a tech company. In real life he owns Dairy Queen Inc. and See’s Candies Inc, and is famously skeptical of technology stocks. He advises the kids to avoid debt - in the series they get their seed money from auctioning baseball memoribilia.
Will 8-12 year olds watch this stuff? Possibly. If it’s on a screen kids will watch anything. For the me the real question is does the SEC have age restrictions on investment, and if not, shouldn’t you buy shares of Dairy Queen?

It doesn’t seem to be on the market yet… A quick google search revealed only articles like this, about how it’s coming out in the fall. So for the moment, no Secret Millionaires for you! It is also possible that the story was based on an idea that never got back the planning stage, in which case no Secret Millionaires for anyone! If it’s all on schedule though, look for it to come out in the next month or so.
