Madonna, Without All That Bothersome Controversey

Whew! NBC/Universal is just wearing me out this week!

Reuters reports that a filmed concert of Madonna’s CONFESSIONS tour, to air on NBC during sweeps on November 22nd, will not include footage of la diva suspended in a cross and wearing a crown of thorns. This is, you may know, the single damn thing about the tour that anyone is interested in. During the song (Live To Tell) the camera will cut to other things. Three minutes of reactions shots? Close-up of the bass players fingers? Home movie footage of Madonna as a controversial child? They have over a month to find something.

The problem is that once to you take the controversy from Madonna, you are left only with ambition and a surprisingly little amount of talent. What do you think, are you gonna watch now? Me neither.

Pictured, something you’ll apparently never see on American network television. Of all the things to ban! This is a woman who has hitchhiked naked in front of a camera, who has fellated a coke bottle on camera, who has spent the last month trying to steal an African baby. I can’t help but think this is pretty weak sauce.
