Who You Are And What You Want
Tonight on the show I’m going to summarize the top 5 stories I covered last year, but since I’m looking back, I have to admit that one of my favorite parts of this gig is checking out the metrics and statistics for the site. The Podcast Network uses a fairly detailed system called awstats to measure and report web traffic.
The traffic data is steadily rising. That’s not interesting enough to write about but if you were ever interested in sponsoring a podcast, well, call me babe. What is interesting, though is what brings you here.
Last month the top two google searches which led to me were DHOOM 3, DHOOM 2 BOXOFFICE and HALO. Dhoom is, of course, the Bollywood action epic which made a huge splash in December. The previous month it was HALO and iPod.
The website that links the most to this one is qq.com, which is entirely in Japanese Korean and therefore completely impenetrable to me. If anyone who comes here from qq would care to tell me how prominent a link I have on there, I’d be very grateful. I might even send you a t-shirt. There is no Box Office Weekly T-shirt, so it would be something I got from someone else. Perhaps Soccergirl. I never wear that one because it makes my wife nervous.
Most of the other links to my page come from other Podcast Network pages. I certainly hope I’m returning the favor!
My most popular post in the past few months was, weirdly, a thing called LEAVE A BEAUTIFUL CORPSE, which was little more than a link to Jack Handey’s Halloween commentary on NPR about how to ensure your skeleton is scary and not boring. If I learn anything from this it’s that I need to have more stories about sex.
