The Soundtrack Album In Winter

I just picked this paragraph up, from an article in the Hollywood Reporter about something completely different - but later on it brings up the coming Louden Wainwright III album which is songs Wainwright wrote for KNOCKED UP but a lot of them weren’t used, so they’re making a seperate album for them.

“Judd (Apatow) really wanted to do this (inspired by) soundtrack because he felt like he wasn’t going to be able to use all of Loudon’s songs in the film,” Nelson says. “Right now, nobody cares about soundtrack albums, so you might as well create something that is a concept album.”

I like this attitude. It’s the kind of thinking that maybe, just maybe, could save the big studios and record companies. When you have nothing to lose, ALWAYS bet.
