Sometimes it is a difficult task coming up with topic ideas for this blog. Other times, the right image or article will cause everything to fall into place, as if pre-ordained by God Himself. In this case the image here (actually, both images: The one of the left absolutely required me to find the one on the right) turned up on the BBC, in an article about a dozen or so extras being injured during the the German location shooting of Tom Cruise’s controversial film Valkyrie.

But don’t worry– they were just extras. To quote the article: “Police said there were ‘no findings to suggest anyone famous was involved.’” Well, Thank GOD for that.

But yeah, Cruise in a Wehrmacht uniform: It just looks incredibly weird. Sort of like a tuna playing a banjo or Condie Rice in a French maid’s outfit. I mean, you can picture it, but…

And I’m NOT putting Mr. Cruise down for strongly resembling Fearless Leader from “Bullwinkle:” Aficionadoes of late-night cable television will no doubt recall Mr. Leader was played by Academy-Award™-winning actor Robert DeNiro in the live-action version. So in this case someone famous WAS involved.
