1. Ryan Seacrest is not a host — he is a dotted line that you are supposed to fill in with a host.

2. Only an awards-show producer would ever consider honoring THE SOPRANOS with a big song and dance number.

3. Sally Field, you little scamp.

4. The ratings for this year’s show were possibly the lowest in history, even with all the attention paid to interesting cable programs. Maybe people are finally catching on to what a big informercial the ceremony is.

5. I liked the American Express commercial with Tina Fey. In fact I have liked ALL the AmEx commercials. Is that guy available to direct CAVEMEN?

6. This may be indicative of a trend - I watched the first 20 minutes of the show, then I went out to a bar and glanced at the rest of it periodically, with the sound down .  Nielsen, does that count?

7. Both Sally Field and David (SOPRANOS) Chase made speeches that were all about the children. Disturbing.
